THE UTOPIAN ROUTE: Rutger Bregman
Utopia for Realists: And How We Can Get There
Rutger Bregman, Dutch historian and author, has published four books on history, philosophy, and economics.
Utopia for Realists was translated in 31 languages and became a national bestseller and made international headlines.
At the recent World Economic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland, Rutger made the headlines again, this time on the specifics of greater equality. During the Time magazine’ panel on inequality, in a room full of billionaires and wealthy people who had travelled by private jet to hear David Attenborough talk about climate change he said:
“I hear people talking the language of participation, justice, equality and transparency but almost no one raises the real issue of tax avoidance, right? And of the rich just not paying their fair share,” “It feels like I’m at a firefighters conference and no one’s allowed to speak about water.”
